If you’re looking for a graduate scheme in IT, then take a look and apply for the scheme that I’ve been on since September.
As part of the IT Architecture stream, I’ve been working with colleagues on designing new or making changes to existing IT systems. I’ve learnt so much within 3 months there already with the support of my line manager, mentor and sponsor, as well as, other members of my team and other members of the company.
As graduates we are also striving towards giving back, we are doing this through the company aligned charity Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH).
With the Costa sale, Whitbread brands such as Premier Inn and Beefeater, are going to be in an even stronger position for growth and this is where IT is key.

6 years ago I went to Brunel University for a Computing Taster Day, having not decided what I was going to do at uni yet or what uni to go to, but that day I decided both those things!
Crazy how time flies, I’ve finished my degree and am working in tech, if it wasn’t for events like that I don’t know where I’d be or what I would have done. That’s why putting effort back into promoting STEM has best interest for everybody!
My week summed up: Early mornings, awful drives home, free lunch and nice work campus walks 🤓
Now for the weekend, seeing my boyfriend and relaxing before doing it all again next week!
Walk a month in my heels day 1… got to work early, 6 meetings done ✅, couple of powerpoints created and out for dinner and crazy golf with two other grads 👌 now off to bed 😴
It’s with great pleasure (and amazement) that I say I have over 1500+ followers over 4 social media platforms, but I’d love to grow this even further, so that IT Girl can try to help one more girl out there into STEM and to grow a bigger network at the same time. So please share http://www.TashaITGirl.com on any platform you see fit, or if you have any ideas it would be great to collaborate with 🤓 Thank you x

Monzo… A mobile bank that allows me to budget and track my spending, I get instant notifications when I buy something and can pay mobile contacts easily.
Spotify… Music on the go and good for in the car!
Peak… Bit of brain training
Google Maps… Have become very reliant upon!
Amazon… Love a cheeky mobile purchase!
OneNote… which I have saved on my OneDrive and can use on my iPhone and it updates onto my laptop.
For my 10th Birthday I was allowed my own personal pay-as-you-go mobile… it was all I wanted and I was one of the first people in my class to get one, I was very excited. It is crazy to think that the iPhone was only a figment of Steve Job’s imagination and wouldn’t come out for another two years when I received this.
I remember the tiny black and grey screen with the pixelated text, using it to play snake on… you couldn’t even go on the internet and it wouldn’t connect to WIFI either. It is amazing to think how much technology has advanced since I received this phone 12 years ago, as well as, other fields that rely on technology to enhance their research and industry. Although, I do still miss the drama of the flip phone!
The user’s experience of technology has also changed dramatically, we no longer have to press the 2 button four times to get the letter ‘C’… we can choose to not even type anymore to construct a message. That mobile that I was given as a present, was an additional, and to an extent, unnecessary tool of contacting my friends and family (limited by credit), but now it isn’t just a tool. Our lives revolve around this online world that we hold in our hand.
So what will happen in another 12 years?
